VISITORS TO NORTHERN IRELAND

First of all – welcome! We are delighted you have chosen to visit our small-but-beautiful part of the world, and we look forward to welcoming you on board! Airporter has been an airport transfer specialist for nearly 25 years and during that time our team of professionals have welcomed guests from all over the world. If you are arriving into the Belfast International or the George Best Belfast City airport, Airporter has exclusive access at the front of the airport, just steps away from arrivals and departures. While our headquarters are located in the city of Derry/Londonderry, we provide private airport transfers to and from destinations all over the North of Ireland, including Donegal. Our customer team can provide an exact quote but as guide, here are some of our most popular private transfer destinations:

DERRY~LONDONDERRY

Welcome to the second city of Northern Ireland! This ancient riverfront city is the only Walled City in Ireland, but also a destination renowned for it’s hospitality, culture, food and drink. Derry/Londonderry was the UK City of Culture in 2013 and is a vibrant university city where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route. As residents and hosts, check out our curated list of favourites and recommendations in our blog post “What to do in the Walled City”. For more information on accommodation, places of interests and things to do, visit the official tourism site of www.visitderry.com.

PORTSTEWART & PORTRUSH

The North Coast of Ireland is one of the most popular golf destinations on the island of Ireland  – and one of the best in the world. The Royal Portrush Golf Club hosted a wildly successful Open Championship in 2019 and Portstewart Golf Club will host the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in 2021. But the North Coast is also a beautiful coastal retreat, both traditional and sophisticated in equal parts, offering world class hospitality on one hand and simple, solitary pleasure on the other. For suggestions on how to experience Portstewart like a coastal local, check out our blog post “Gulls & Ghosts, Crabs & Chips”.

Lough Erne & Enniskillen

The Lough Erne resort is one of Northern Ireland’s top hotels – and it’s easy to see why. The hotel – like the County of Fermanagh it is located in – is both grand and gracious. Whether you are staying for the stunning views, the Thai Spa, the golf or just to enjoy the hospitality, Lough Erne is a hugely popular choice for visitors.

It’s also a great place to stay while enjoying the rest of what Fermanagh has to offer. Fermanagh is hugely popular for its water cruises and the town of Enniskillen itself is steeped in history. Fermanagh is home to National Trust properties and the Marble Arch underground Geopark. While there, be sure to visit the Cuilcagh Mountain Trail and it’s famous “Stairway to Heaven”

County Down

County Down has so much that visitors love. Nearly all parts of the county boast beautiful views, “where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea”. Royal County Down is frequently voted the Number 1 Golf Course in the world and it’s easy to see why.

Royal County Down Golf Course is a magnificent links course located in the Murlough nature reserve with the stunning backdrop of the Mourne mountains. Many visitors who come to County Down for golf stay at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, which borders the beach on one side and the Royal County Down golf course on the other, and offers their guests a taste of Victorian grandeur and luxury.

County Donegal

County Donegal is more of a kingdom than a county, with over a thousand kilometres of stunning coastline on the Wild Atlantic Way. Hugely popular with surfers, golfers and as a wedding venue, County Donegal has beautiful hotels and wonderful hospitality.

Parts of the county are remote, wild and wonderful with vertiginous Atlantic cliffs, must-climb mountains and sandy, golden beaches, but also pretty villages and bustling towns. If you enjoy a windswept walk on a deserted beach followed by a roaring turf fire, a wonderful meal and a glass of whiskey in a quiet armchair – get ready to fall in love with Donegal!
